About Jason Baxter
Jason Baxter has been providing legal services for eight years. He was one of the first paralegals in Ontario to be licenced by The Law Society of Upper Canada and he has been appointed as a Commissioner of Oath.
In September 2008, Jason was one of four owners who acquired X-Copper Legal Services Professional Corporation (X-COPPER), one of Canada's most recognized paralegal firms. He will bring his defence work skills to X-Copper's Traffic Offences and Criminal Divisions.
Jason began his career as a Police Officer with the Toronto Police Service then quickly moved into defence law two years later. Since then, Jason has successfully advocated for clients charged under the Provincial Offences Act, Criminal Code (summary) offences and Small Claims court cases.
Some of the most popular cases he has handled include: impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, careless driving, speeding, racing/stunt driving, disobeying stop signs, failing to stop at red lights, possession of a controlled substance, fraud, theft and assaults. Jason is often consulted with by Lawyers in Ontario due to his extensive knowledge of the Provincial Offences Act.
Jason is licenced to provide legal services by The Law Society of Upper Canada, and he is a voting member of The Paralegal Society of Ontario (PSO) and The Licenced Paralegal Association (LPA). He was a former member of the Toronto Police Association. He is an enthusiastic supporter of community organizations such as The Hospital for Sick Children, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation and the S'port for Kids Foundation.
