I was one of thousands of people who figured, "Policemen don't give traffic tickets to innocent people, so I must be guilty!" So there I was yet again prepared to write a cheque to the government when a friend (now a much better friend!) said, "Are you kidding? Call X-Copper! It was several days before the last Christmas. I made a short trip from Toronto to Buffalo, which should have been a pleasant one if it was not for the speeding ticket. When I was polled over and told I was driving at 75mph on a 55 high way, I thought my holidays were ruined. (Please don not laugh at me. I know I might be a little overreacting. But you will understand my feeling if you got a ticket, especially when you thought you were a "good" driver all the time.) I had to make a decision in 24 hours. If I plead not guilty, I may have to go to the court. What's the odds to win the case? Is it worth to drop my work and drive to New York State again? Or should I just pay the fine, and tell the judge I am actually "not" guilty for whatever reason? I don't see this will do any good either.

After 15 years of clean driving, I have recently received 2 violations. It is especially upsetting when in all fairness – it was NOT deserved.
